Sean Walsh Park

Sean Walsh Park is located in the heart of Tallaght on the N81, often considered ‘The Green Lung’ of Tallaght. Ornamental formal gardens lie side by side with attractive water features such as ponds and waterfalls, while extensive tree planting provides shaded areas for relaxation. Pedestrian paths around the ponds offer pleasant walks and passive recreation. Over 11 km of pathways are provided throughout the park for exploration, walking, and jogging.

Now, more than ever, our parks are seen as important havens as they support our physical and mental health, especially in the current difficult times of restrictions and uncertainty. The sensory garden provides a tranquil environment with universal access incorporated into the layout. Access to natural environments, such as parks, is proven to reduce stress and boost our mental well-being. It is also important that we all continue to get regular exercise, such as walking or jogging, and for children to spend time playing outdoors. Our parks offer a great opportunity for people of all ages to get out and get active. The playground is divided into two sections: one for younger children and one for older children, with a transition area in between.

There is also a dog park with accessibility for all visitors. Designated dog park areas, such as this one, allow your dog to play with other dogs in a safe environment. Visiting a dog park fosters a more active and social environment for both humans and dogs alike. The positive influence of dog parks on the local community is undeniable.
