Ely Arch
Ely Arch was originally built in 1771 as an entrance to Rathfarnham Castle, in more modern times Ely Arch has become the symbolic entrance into the county of South Dublin with Dublin City Councils remit to the north across the Dodder and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County to the east. The recent improvements have consisted of upgrading landscape boundaries, paving, steps that provide access to Arch and green space, a ballylusk courtyard, tree planting and passive recreation opportunities.
