The newly improved Killinarden Park was officially opened on Wednesday the 27th of November, by the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Baby Pereppadan. These improvements included new amenities designed to enhance the experience the park provides. Such amenities include a new cycle track, lit walking paths, new play spaces, exercise areas, a skate ramp and a multi-use games area have been provided.  A major upgrade of the existing grass pitches has also been undertaken. New improved entrances with associated signage welcoming visitors. The vision for these amenities is to increase interaction with the park and to bring a further sense of community for the local area.

The cycling route and walking paths are now lit and offer ease of permeability for residents and commuters who live nearby. The option is there to choose active travel in their daily commutes. These cycle tracks connect onto major commuting roads such as Blessington Road and Kilinarden Way.
