This part of the scheme involves the upgrading of pedestrian facilities on Monastery Road in order to improve general walking conditions on a section of Monastery Road between Monastery Walk and Castle Park in Clondalkin. This is part of an ongoing scheme earmarked for the improvement of walking and cycling facilities from Clondalkin Village to Redcow Luas Station and these works constitute Phase 3.
These works will include the provision of zebra crossings, raised table top ramps with raised pedestrian crossing on side roads at junctions, bus ramps, widening and renewal of footpaths between Monastery Walk and Castle Park and traffic calming on Monastery Road.
Phase 1 and 2 were completed in previous contracts and the works involved installation of a signalised pedestrian crossing near the GAA entrance, two table top ramps at Monastery Heath and Monastery Walk, widening and renewal of footpaths both sides of Monastery Road between Monastery Heath and Monastery Walk and traffic calming.
These on-going works are scheduled to be completed by the end of April 2016. We wish to apologise for the inconvenience caused.
