Passing of Former Councillor and Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Jim Daly

Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr Baby Pereppadan, Chief Executive Colm Ward, and all staff at South Dublin County Council would like to express their sympathies to the family of former Councillor and Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Jim Daly.

Jim was co-opted to Dublin County Council in 1990 representing the Tallaght-Rathcoole constituency. He served as a councillor for South Dublin County Council for Tallaght South for ten more years from 1999-2009, and he served as Cathaoirleach of South Dublin County Council from 2002 to 2003.

During Jim’s time as Mayor and Councillor of South Dublin County Council, he contributed hugely to the betterment of South Dublin County.

Jim passed away on 16 January 2025 at Tallaght University Hospital. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. May he rest in peace.
