Roadworks and Diversions to Belgard Square North

Excavation and pipe-laying works on the Tallaght District-heating network were suspended through December as required by Operation Open City (formerly Freeflow).

Works are now set to recommence on Belgard Square North from Monday 10 January.

These works will require the closure of the eastbound lane of Belgard Square North from the Tallaght Hospital roundabout to the Belgard Square North/Belgard Square East roundabout.

As a result, Eastbound traffic towards Belgard Road, including buses, will be diverted at the Hospital roundabout, down Belgard Square West and across Belgard Square South back onto Belgard Road.

Traffic from Belgard Road towards the Hospital roundabout will not be affected.  Access to the SDCC surface /underground carparks, deliveries to Tallaght Cross East complex and Exchange Building will be from this westbound lane. The closure /diversion will be in operation for six weeks.

Inconvenience to road-users is very much regretted and every effort will be made to minimise disruption and to complete works as quickly as possible. VFM message machines will be in position from early Friday morning to inform road-users of proposed restrictions.
