A Wonderful Day Exploring Trees & Fungi in our Green Spaces!
🌿A huge thank you toRathfarnham Village Tidy Towns, Claire Hamilton and Codie Preston who hosted the recent biodiversity events in Rathfarnham Castle Park and Massy's Estate, supported by SDCC and IPB Insurance under the LEAF initiative.

🌳Attendees at the Native Tree Walk & Talk in Rathfarnham Castle Park discovered the rich variety of Ireland's native trees, identified an Oak Gall from a Gall Wasp and were entertained by an expert level game of conkers!
🍄 At the Fascinating Fungi Walk & Talk in Massy's Wood Andrew Smith captivated the tour of over 30 people with the hidden world of fungi and which fungi are best avoided such as the smelly stinkhorn mushroom!

💚 It was fantastic to see so many families, nature enthusiasts and local residents connecting with nature and learning more about the biodiversity on their doorstep.
