Between the Red Lines: Workshop: Irish Language Poets and Translators with Annemarie Ní Churreáin

Workshop: Irish Language Poets and Translators with Annemarie Ní Churreáin

What can we learn from Irish language voices? Where can those of us who are new to the Irish language, or returning to it, begin?

Join facilitator Annemarie Ní Churreáin for a creative writing workshop that explores the art and craft of writing poems by drawing inspiration from a range of contemporary Irish language poets and translators. In a supportive and encouraging environment, participants will learn to identify resonant poetic themes, and to gain insights into the dynamics at play in the making of a poem. Workshop activities will include creative writing prompts, close reading of poems, and group discussion. No fluency or previous experience of the Irish language required. Beginner poets welcome.

ANNEMARIE NÍ CHURREÁIN is a poet from the Donegal Gaeltacht. Her publications include Bloodroot (Doire Press, 2017) and Town (The Salvage Press, 2018).
