Safer Roads Conference 2026

South Dublin County Council is delighted to be attending ‘The Safer Roads Conference’ in Killarney, Co Kerry. This two-day event focuses on improving road safety , reducing traffic- related incidents and sharing knowledge about best practices for safer road use.

‘Safer Roads’ encompasses various strategies and efforts across multiple domains, including road design, engineering, enforcement, technology, education , collision trends, improved mobility, sustainable travel and the role of AI in Road Safety overall.

 

A variety of stakeholders and service providers will be in attendance, including road safety and transportation experts, government and local authority officials, roads policing, advocates, educators, cycling bodies and community safety networks.

 

‘Safer Roads’ is a multifaceted concept involving proactive and coordinated efforts across various domains. 

 

Road Safety Officer at South Dublin County Council Orlaith Maguire was invited to attend this conference along with her colleague Gerry Flaherty Road Safety Engineer from DunLaoghaire Rathdown County Council(DLR)  both delivering presentations on Educational Programmes, Promotional Campaigns, Interagency Collaboration and Local & Social online Media campaigns, and Road Safety Engineering concepts and developments.
