Lucan House & Demesne Masterplan
South Dublin County Council is delighted to publish the Lucan House & Demesne Masterplan.
This ambitious initiative sets out a transformative vision to revitalise the historic Lucan House estate into a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable public amenity. Guided by extensive community consultation, the masterplan integrates heritage conservation, climate resilience, enhanced green infrastructure, and new cultural and recreational facilities.
Key features include:
- Restoration and adaptive reuse of historic buildings
- Expanded walking and cycling connections linking to St. Catherine’s Park and the wider green network
- New performance, community, and cultural spaces
- Biodiverse landscapes and climate-adaptive design
- Accessible amenities for all ages and abilities
This project represents a significant investment in local heritage and quality of life, creating a landmark destination for Lucan and the wider region. The Masterplan is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union under the ERDF Southern, Eastern and Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.
