Speaking on his appointment, Charlie O’Connor said: “I am truly honoured to accept the role of Grand Marshal for the 2026 Tallaght St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It will be a very special moment for me to take part in the parade this year, and I am very much looking forward to celebrating with the entire community.”
Mayor of South Dublin County, Cllr Pamela Kearns, welcomed the announcement, stating: “Charlie is someone who is deeply embedded in the fabric of the Tallaght community. Over many years he has shown genuine care and commitment to local people, always taking the time to listen, support and encourage community initiatives. He has been a constant presence at local events and a strong supporter of voluntary groups and organisations. We are delighted that he has agreed to serve as Grand Marshal for the 2026 Tallaght St. Patrick’s Day Parade, it is a well-deserved recognition of his contribution to community life in Tallaght.”
The 2026 Tallaght St. Patrick’s Day Parade promises to be a vibrant celebration of local culture, heritage and community pride, with schools, sports clubs, community organisations and performers from across the area taking part in one of the highlights of the Tallaght calendar.
