Mayor’s Reception to celebrate Shamrock Rovers’ achievement in 2025

South Dublin County Council’s Mayor Cllr Pamela Kearns hosted a Mayor’s reception for Shamrock Rovers FC in County Hall on Monday evening to recognise and celebrate Shamrock Rovers’ success  in winning the SEE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division and the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup in the 2025 Season.

At the event the Mayor presented two framed photos of Shamrock Rovers lifting the league trophy and the FAI Cup to Ciaran Medlar, Chairman of Shamrock Rovers, and Stephen Bradley, Shamrock Rovers’ first team coach.

The Mayor said ‘it is a privilege to offer this token in recognition and celebration of Shamrock Rovers’ achievements. Your club continues to inspire our community through your unwavering commitment, remarkable skill, and deep passion for both the sport and your team. Securing both the league and the cup in a single season stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work that defines this group. We take great pride in our relationship with Shamrock Rovers, as well as with the staff and management of Tallaght Stadium, and we look forward to seeing this relationship flourish in the years ahead.’

The event was attended by South Dublin Councillors, the Shamrock Rovers team, board and management as well as match day volunteers.

Both Colm Ward, Chief Executive of South Dublin County Council and Ciaran Medler, Chairman of Shamrock Rovers spoke of the long-standing relationship between the Council and the club.

Shamrock Rovers has a long and proud history, and Tallaght and Tallaght Stadium, home to the club since 2009, is now woven into that history. Shamrock Rovers are Ireland’s most successful club with a record 22 League of Ireland titles, and a record 26 FAI Cups.
