The Shared Reading Experience Thursday 9th May at 7pm

Shared Reading is a novel way of enjoying the written word with others. A friendly trained leader provides a welcome & the text of something chosen to read aloud. Shared Reading offers a welcoming space for individuals to form real connections with the literature and to each other. Booking essential via Eventbrite.

Matisse Arts and Crafts Workshop with Eva Kelly Thursday 16th May at 11am

In this one and a half hour session, we will be drawing with scissors and colourful paper to make original collage images based on the works of Matisse. Eva will guide you through the stages of her creative process to create your own joyful collage, inspired by the colourful paintings of Matisse.  Booking through Eventbrite.

Design and Print Your Own Tote Bag Tuesday 21st May at 6.30pm 

In this workshop you will create a design for a tote bag, print it out and fix to your brand new individual tote bag!  Booking through Eventbrite.

Celebrating the famous caricature of Irish literary figures “DUBLIN CULTURE” Wednesday 22nd May at 6.30pm

JoyceStagers Val O’Donnell and Tim Casey celebrate the gathering of 37 of Ireland’s foremost poets, writers, artists, and journalists as featured in Alan Reeve’s famous caricature of a gathering of literary Dublin in the back-lounge of The Palace Bar in June 1940.  Those featured include Patrick Kavanagh, Flann O’Brien, Austin Clarke, F.R.Higgins, Brinsley McNamara, Francis McManus, and ‘Bertie’ Smyllie ( Editor, Irish Times).  This is an evening of readings/performances of a selection from their works.  Booking through Eventbrite.

Great Gatsby Evening with the Cotton Club Quartet Tuesday 30th May at 7pm

Enjoy live music from the golden age of Jazz with the Cotton Club Quartet.  We are encouraging everyone to dress up 1920s style with beads, feathers and fringes!

Introduction to Photogrammetry with Paul Butler, from the Society for Old Lucan.  Tuesday 7th May, 7pm 

How this technology can be used to create 3D models of heritage sites. Photogrammetry technology is a process of recording, measuring, and interpreting different types of photographs of objects. Through this process, you can construct three-dimensional (3D) models from two-dimensional (2D) photographs. All welcome.

Finding Magic & Medicine in Your Garden with Feebee Foran 12.30pm Thursday 23rd May

Feebee Foran is a forager, herbalist and owner of the natural Irish skincare brand, Forager. She will be giving a fascinating talk on the medicinal and folkloric properties of the native plants in your garden. She aims to connect people with nature and increase their biodiversity awareness. This talk will be a mix of visual and interactive elements, as she brings along plants for the audience to touch, feel and smell, to help identify plants more easily.  Booking here
