The new build café is located centrally in the proposed development with direct access to the park, car park and links back to the castle through the historical courtyards. This building has been sensitively designed to ensure there is a clear recognition between the existing heritage buildings and the new.
The front of house areas have been sensitively located along two existing walls in the third courtyard, with a mono-pitched roof falling towards the centre of the courtyard reflecting the farmyard typology of the existing stables and outbuildings. A new extension to the retail areas is also incorporated into the opposite side of this courtyard in a similar form.
The back of house café spaces and service yards have been incorporated into a flat green roofed extension along one side of the furthest courtyard.
