South Dublin Local Community Safety Partnership (SDCC LCSP)

The South Dublin Local Community Safety Partnership (SDCC LCSP) is a collaborative, community-led forum established to ensure that the voices of local people are central to identifying and addressing community safety concerns across South Dublin. The Partnership brings together residents and community representatives with local Councillors, An Garda Síochána, business and education stakeholders, and key statutory agencies including the Health Service Executive, the Child and Family Agency (Tusla), and South Dublin County Council.

The purpose of the SDCC LCSP is to bring relevant agencies and communities together in a structured and collaborative manner, with a clear focus on the safety priorities identified by local people. Through partnership working, the LCSP seeks to ensure that community safety issues are addressed in a coordinated, preventative and inclusive way, with responses led by the services best placed to make a meaningful impact.

As a newly established partnership, the SDCC LCSP will be responsible for developing and implementing a Local Community Safety Plan for South Dublin. This plan will set out agreed priorities and actions, informed by community engagement and local evidence, and will guide collective efforts to improve safety and wellbeing across the county.

Membership

Membership of the SDCC LCSP will not exceed 30 members.

The Partnership will include representatives from:

  • South Dublin County Council, including elected Councillors and senior officials
  • An Garda Síochána (senior representatives)
  • The Health Service Executive
  • The Child and Family Agency (Tusla)
  • Residents associations from across South Dublin
  • Education and business sector representatives
  • Community and voluntary sector representatives, including youth, social inclusion, sport, and new and minority communities

Partnership Approach

The work of the SDCC LCSP is underpinned by two key principles:

  • Every community is different, with its own strengths, challenges and priorities.
  • Community safety is a shared responsibility, extending beyond policing alone and requiring coordinated action across health, social, community and local government services.
