How to Get Here

Lucan Library is a full-time library in the SuperValu Shopping Centre in Lucan. It is situated to the extreme left of the centre, near the Dunnes Stores entrance.

The library can be reached by the C1 and C2 bus which both stop at the Finnstown Abbey stop and the library is five minutes walk from there.

Borrowers can also get the L51 and P29 bus from Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

About Us

The library was opened to the public in November 2000. It is a bright modern building on the first floor of the SuperValu Shopping Centre and is accessible by lift. It has a large children's area.

My Open Library

My Open Library is an unstaffed, self-service library available every day of the year! During My Open Library Hours you can borrow and return items, print, photocopy, use the Internet, access Free Wifi and use our study space.

  • Available from 8am - 10pm 7 days a week.
  • You must have a valid South Dublin Libraries card. Register | South Dublin Libraries.
  • You must be 16 or over to register for this service. Under 16s can access with a parent or guardian only. Borrowers must bring a valid age ID (passport, age card etc.) 
  • If you would like to become a My Open Library Member please contact the library to book in for a short induction.  Please bring along your library card and some photo ID.
