Following the An Bord Pleanala appeal decision, the Development Agency (South Dublin County Council) prepared a consolidated Planning Scheme document, integrating the alterations and modifications approved by An Bord Pleanála. The consolidated Planning Scheme shall be used by the planning authority in assessing all planning applications in the SDZ.
The Development Agency published a notice of approval of the Scheme on September 30th 2019 as required under the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, when the consolidated Planning Scheme document was prepared.

On 5th March 2021, the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD, announced that South Dublin County Council has been awarded €176.6 million in funding for the major regeneration project of Clonburris Strategic Development Zone under ‘Call 2’ of the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF). This funding will support the delivery of strategic infrastructure and amenities, including new parks, new community spaces, new streets, bridges and utilities, all of which are crucial to support the building of new homes for people. The URDF funded infrastructure will help SDCC and the other landowners drive forward delivery of one of Ireland’s most important regeneration sites, which will include a mix of new affordable, social, and private homes.
