Variation No. 4 & Variation No.5
South Dublin County Council at a meeting on the 9th December 2019, adopted Variation No. 4 and No. 5 to the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022. These variations are effective immediately.
The addendum report outlines the specific changes incorporated into the Written Statement.
Variation No. 4 – Alignment with the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy (RSES)
Variation No. 4 to the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 sought to respond to the recent changes in National and Regional planning policy, namely the publication of the National Planning Framework (NPF) in 2018 and the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA) Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy (RSES) in 2019. Variation No.4 ensures consistency with the RSES, in particular the core strategy, and all other Regional Policy Objectives.
Variation No. 5 – Outdoor Advertising
Variation No. 5 seeks to amend the policy context within the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 in relation to outdoor advertising. With advances in technology, increasing demand for customer communication, as well as enhanced service delivery, South Dublin County Council are seeking to respond to these challenges by developing an updated and modern policy position on outdoor advertising.
