South Dublin County Council with support from the NTA (National Transport Authority) are working towards achieving the Smarter Travel Mark, which recognises and celebrates organisations that support active and sustainable travel on the commute and beyond for their workforce and visitors, resulting in a reduction in single person car usage, while increasing active and sustainable travel.
As a partner in the Programme, we commit to undertaking the following with assistance from TFI Smarter Travel:
- Nominate a person or team to coordinate the programme
- Survey employees on their commuting habits
- Develop an action plan of sustainable and active travel initiatives
- Dedicate financial and non-financial resources to implement the action plan
- Encourage employees to use more sustainable and active transport
- Monitor the performance of the action plan through follow-up surveys
Pictured below is Chief Executive Colm Ward signing our Smarter Travel Charter, to emphasise our commitment in achieving this important accreditation, to assist in healthier, happier and smarter travel options for all County Hall staff.
