New Housing Customer Centre Opens in County Hall.
Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Councillor Alan Edge Officially Opens New Housing Customer Centre in County Hall, Tallaght
The Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Councillor Alan Edge officially opened the new Housing Customer Centre at an official ribbon cutting ceremony at County Hall, Tallaght today.
The Housing Customer Centre, which has undergone an extensive refurbishment to be comfortable for customers, while offering greater privacy and quality of service to attendees, now consists of a public counter area with interactive screens, a number of meeting rooms and a family specific area.
The official opening follows on from a soft launch from Monday, 19th June where the Housing Department had been arranging appointments with customers in the new facility in order to test systems, arrangements and processes prior to today’s formal opening.
This work significantly progresses the Council’s Customer Services and Digital Transformation Strategy which was approved by the Council in 2021. Through this strategy, we aim to increase accessibility to services to members of the public through the enhancement of digital services so they can reap the financial, health and social benefits they offer.
Speaking at the official opening, Councillor Alan Edge, Mayor of South Dublin said; “I’m delighted to officially open this fantastic facility here in County Hall. The new Housing Customer Centre and the transformation of how services are delivered, will hopefully allow South Dublin housing customers, potentially vulnerable members of the public, to access services in a safe and comfortable environment when interacting with staff at South Dublin County Council. I wish the staff here the very best.”
Members of the public can now access the Housing Customer Centre by appointment only by contacting the Council at 01-4149000 to request an appointment. The existing customer service counters in County Hall Tallaght & Clondalkin will remain open until Friday, 14th July, at which point these will then close. The Cash Offices in both Clondalkin and Tallaght will continue to operate and both will remain accessible as public buildings.
