Step Into the Dark Side at Red Line Book Festival 2025

This October, the Red Line Book Festival invites you to explore fear, mystery and the supernatural with a thrilling Dark Side strand, alongside a vibrant week-long celebration of books, writers, and stories.
Over 40 events take place across South Dublin venues, from Rathfarnham Castle to The Civic Theatre, offering readers and writers the chance to engage with some of the most exciting voices in contemporary literature.
Dark Side Highlights include:
- Chasing the Dark: Encounters with the Supernatural — Ben Machell & Sophie White on ghosts, psychic phenomena, and chilling case files.
- Crime author Gill Perdue in conversation with Amanda Cassidy about The Night I Killed Him.
- Writing the Supernatural — Sarah Maria Griffin, Courtney Smyth, Heather Davey & Deirdre Sullivan discuss writing strange and otherworldly stories.
- Ruth Scott in conversation with funeral director David McGowan about his moving memoir A Life Among the Dead.
The festival also welcomes an impressive line-up including Helen Fielding, Jo Baker, Paul Lynch, Hector Ó hEochagáin, Gavan Reilly, Roisín O’Donnell, and Xiaolu Guo.
