Between the Red Lines: Emotion in Poetry with Anne Tannam

Emotion in Poetry with Anne Tannam

According to Billy Collins, 'A poem is an emotion'. During this one hour webinar we'll look at the role emotion plays in poetry, and the role poetry plays for us in understanding our emotions. Participants will come away with a greater understanding of the role of emotion in poetry, and tips on how best to convey it through our choice and use of language, tone and format.

Anne Tannam is a Dublin poet. Her first collection Take This Life was published in 2011 by Wordonthestreet Publishers. In 2017 her second collection Tides Shifting Across My Sitting Room Floor was published by Salmon Poetry. Her third, Twenty-six Letters of a New Alphabet is forthcoming with Salmon Poetry in 2021.

This event is presented as part of Ireland Reads, a new national campaign to encourage as many people as possible to get reading.

Between the Red Lines is an initiative of South Dublin Libraries & Arts.
