The Policing and Community Safety Authority Public Consultation

19 May 25

Have Your Say on Policing Priorities The Policing and Community Safety Authority would like your views on what An Garda Síochána should prioritise for 2026–2028.”

Let us know your Policing Priorities

The Policing and Community Safety Authority (PCSA) oversees and assesses the performance of An Garda Síochána.

Part of our role is to set Policing Priorities. These are areas that An Garda Síochána should focus on to improve the policing services offered to communities.

How can you help?

As a member of the communities that An Garda Síochána serves, or as a member of the garda workforce, we want your views on what areas of policing should be prioritised in 2026-2028. All responses are anonymous.

We ask you to spend 70 points across 24 policing areas. You can spend 0-5 points on each area: the more you spend, the more important you think it is.

Not everything can be a priority, so how you allocate your points will show us how you believe policing time, resources, and attention should be prioritised.

We have also provided information that explains what is involved in each area – press the (i) button beside each area to see this.

You can also provide additional comments once you have spent your points, and you will be given the chance to complete a short optional survey. You will remain anonymous, but this information will help us understand how different communities prioritise services.

Who can take part?

Participants aged 16+ are invited to take part in this consultation and by doing so confirm their consent to the use of their responses in the analysis of results.
