Her Moves Dance Programme
Active South Dublin is proud to support the Her Moves Dance Programme, which provides girls with the opportunity to engage in dance and physical activity in a fun, creative way. One such programme took place in Killinarden Secondary School and St. Aiden’s in Tallaght, where we funded a dance programme that ran throughout the school year.
In these schools, the Her Moves Dance Programme provided an opportunity for girls to explore the world of dance beyond the basics. The students not only learned dance moves but also engaged in choreography, filming, and music, allowing them to explore their creativity and express themselves through movement. By the end of the year, the girls showcased their hard work and creativity in a live performance for their schools during the end-of-year assembly. The performance was well received by the schools, and it was an important moment of celebration for the participants.
Around 30 girls in Killinarden Secondary School and 40 girls in St. Aiden’s took part in the programme each week. For many of the girls, this was the only form of physical activity they participated in during the week, as they did not regularly take part in P.E. The programme provided an accessible
