Inclusive Camps

Inclusive Sports Camps

A diverse group of children, teenagers, and adults pose together on a grassy pitch for an Active South Dublin inclusive sports day. Some participants hold colourful rugby balls and are dressed in rain jackets and sportswear. In the foreground is a large “Active South Dublin” banner. The mood is cheerful and proud, showcasing fun, teamwork, and inclusive participation regardless of ability or background.

Active South Dublin works in partnership with Leinster Rugby, the Football Association of Ireland (FAI), Cricket Leinster, Basketball Ireland, and other National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to deliver sports camps specifically designed for children with physical and intellectual disabilities. These camps provide a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where participants can learn new skills, stay active, and enjoy the many benefits of sport.

Held during school holidays, the camps feature expert coaching in a range of sports, including rugby, football, basketball, and multisport activities. Coaches and facilitators are experienced in working with children with additional needs, ensuring that all participants feel supported, engaged, and empowered to take part. The camps emphasize personal development, teamwork, and building confidence through physical activity.

To ensure accessibility and inclusivity for families across the region, camp venues rotate throughout South Dublin County, offering convenient locations in a variety of communities. These camps not only promote physical activity but also create opportunities for children to make new friends, explore new sports, and be part of a positive and encouraging community.

Other participants and coaches can be seen in the background, also using wheelchairs. The scene takes place in a gym with a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, promoting accessible sport, teamwork, and fun for all abilities.
