The Active South Dublin team is dedicated to delivering high-quality programmes, initiatives, and partnerships that promote active and healthy lifestyles across South Dublin County. Each member of our staff plays a crucial role in achieving our mission, bringing a unique focus and expertise to ensure we meet the needs of our diverse communities.
- Thomas McDermott, Head of Sport and Recreation, oversees the overall strategy and direction of Active South Dublin, ensuring that our goals align with local needs and national priorities.
- Tracey Kelly, Sports Administrator, manages the day-to-day operations of our office, providing vital support to the team and ensuring programmes run smoothly.
- Ellen Connolly, Communications and Marketing Officer, leads our efforts to engage with the public, sharing updates, promoting events, and raising awareness of our work through effective communications.
- Elizabeth Dunne, Senior Staff Officer, provides senior-level management and coordination to keep all projects and initiatives on track.
- Darragh Conway, Active Cities Officer, focuses on developing urban-specific programmes that create opportunities for people to engage in sport and physical activity within city environments.
- Helen Dwyer, Sports Development Officer (Community), supports local clubs, groups, and communities to grow participation and access to sport and activity.
- Bernard Robinson, Sports Development Officer (Schools), works directly with schools to integrate physical activity into daily routines and develop future generations of active citizens.
- Siobhan Gallier, Sports Inclusion Disability Officer, champions accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, has opportunities to participate in sport and recreation.
In addition to our core team, we co-fund dedicated Sports Development Officer roles in partnership with leading organisations such as the FAI, Leinster Rugby, GAA, Cricket Leinster, and Basketball Ireland. These roles ensure that sports-specific programmes are developed and delivered to meet the needs of South Dublin’s communities.
