The Display Energy Certificate (DEC) aims to encourage the owners of public buildings, with a floor area greater than 250m2, to adopt energy efficiency measures by displaying their energy performance, as required under S.I. 243 of 2012 (EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive). Working with Codema, the performance of buildings owned by South Dublin County Council is assessed and certified annually, based upon actual energy consumption. In September 2021, South Dublin County Council published 18 Display Energy Certificates for buildings over 250m2 that are frequently visited by members of the public. |
