Grant aid awarded through the EPA's Local Authority Prevention Network is aimed primarily at assisting in implementing activities and initiatives to promote and achieve local waste prevention, resource efficiency, and circular economy activities. The grant aid is open to all local authorities and any local authority staff or section.

South Dublin County Council applied for the Local Authority Prevention Network grant in August 2021 but were unsuccessful. As of yet no funding for 2022 has been announced.
