Each of the Dublin local authorities made submissions to the National Transport Authority on BusConnects.
A series of online informal public consultations were held which were attended by members of the public, local interest groups, cycling groups and the elected members. Some of the issues raised included loss of mature trees, generation of noise and dust, loss of green space and concerns for ecologically sensitive areas.
Detailed junction design is progressing for each of the bus corridors, with priority at each junction favouring public transport, pedestrian and cycling movements. Additional junction improvements to protect vulnerable users will also be included.
