South Dublin County Council promote reuse and recycling of materials by operating 2 recycling centres and a network of 70 glass recycling bottle banks.
Additional measures to reduce the amount of single use plastics include our support of the Conscious Cup Campaign and the provision of 9 drinking water fountains around the county, which has eliminated the need for 50,000 plastic bottles. In 2020, 5 additional water stations were provided, bringing the total to 14. New schemes will give consideration to the provision of water stations if appropriate.
