Lucan Village and Lucan Demesne opening

On May 1st 2026, Lucan Village green and Lucan Demesne entrance enhancements were open to the public. The space in the Lucan Village Green area looks to  provide a year-round area for people to enjoy the open space and attract visitors to surrounding amenities. Improvements to the entrance look to attract visitors to the wonderful walking trails and river access of Lucan Demesne.

The opening of these spaces together represents a major milestone in improving the public realm in Lucan, strengthening connections between heritage, village life and high‑quality outdoor amenities.

The Village green works were designed by DHB Architects and constructed by Bretland Construction, the project represents a major reconfiguration of this prominent civic space. The upgraded Village Green features new seating areas, a bandstand, access to the Griffeen River, amphitheatre-style seating and newly planted areas, which will create a high‑quality and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
