Templeogue Village Initiative update
Works in the village have recommenced following the Christmas period.
Currently works are progressing as follows: finishing the paving outside the Morgue Pub, beginning the kerbing and paving outside O’Briens and beginning laying the northside surface water drainage pipe outside the old Post Office.
From Monday the 10 January, the one-way system will be initiated through the village to facilitate the laying of the ESB High Voltage Cable Ducting in the Carriageway. Due to the wider traffic requirements the lane closure will still be implemented on the eastbound lane. A reversal of the direction was requested in a number of submissions. This was fully assessed by SDCC’s Traffic Section. Unfortunately, the wider traffic impacts are prohibitive.
The City bound buses will be diverted with one additional temporary bus stop being provided at 83/85 Cypress Grove Road.
An additional digital sign will be placed in advance of the Spawell Roundabout to advise “Diversion Ahead”.
Additional “Templeogue Open for Business Signage” will be erected along the diversion route to assist Traders.
During the works SDCC and the contractor will endeavour to provide additional temporary on-street parking on the closed Eastbound Lane near 50/50, opposite the Tennis club to facilitate customers with ease of access to businesses during the works. The ESB works will begin near Hollingsworth Cycles and move westward through the village. As the works progress past the old Post Office, more additional on-street parking will be provided at the closed eastbound Bus Stop.
Regular updates will be issued to Councillors during the Road Closure informing on progress.
