The Planning Permit: 8 Weeks for a Decision 4 Weeks for Third Party Appeals

Note: Local Authority can make one request for additional information during the 8 week period

Third Party Appeals: Third Party must make submissions or observations (in writing) to the Planning Authority within 5 weeks of the lodgment of planning application, when the Application is being considered. After decision by Local Authority, Third Parties who have made observations may appeal to An Bord Pleanala.

Note: On projects of national importance, An Bord Pleanala will endeavor to give a decision within a 4 month period.

The Pfizer Biopharmaceutical Campus (1.0 Million Sq Feet) Pre-planning Consultation April - July 2000, Planning Application lodged on 4th July 2000, Planning Decision on 15th August 2000, Appeals Period Ended on 14th September 2000 (No Third Party Appeals), Construction Commenced on 2nd October 2000.

Takeda Ireland (100,000 Sq Feet) Pre-planning Consultation June - September 2002, Planning Application lodged on 27th September 2002, Planning Decision on 25th November 2002, Appeals Period Ended on 19th December 2002 (No Third Party Appeals), Construction Commenced on 6th January 2003.
